Canon Lide 120 Scanner Setup

CanoScan LiDE 120 is a color image scanner manufactured by Canon. This flatbed scanner allows you to scan and copy your documents. It has four scan buttons: Auto Scan, Copy, PDF, and Send. With its Hi-Speed USB connectivity, you can quickly scan your document and send the copy to the connected devices. Unboxing:

  • Unpack the scanner from the package and check the following components.
  • USB cable
  • Setup software & user’s guide CD-ROM
  • Getting started guide
  • Remove all the protective tapes and covers from the scanner.
  • Unlock the scanner by sliding the switch at the backside.

Connecting the scanner to your computer:

  • Place the scanner close to your computer.
  • Locate the USB port on your scanner and plug one end of the USB cable, provided with the scanner, into it.
  • Plug the other end of the same USB cable into your computer’s USB port.
  • Once the USB connection is made, the scanner power will be activated automatically.

Installing the scanner software:

  • Insert the CD-ROM that comes along with the scanner into your computer’s CD/DVD drive.
  • Run the setup file on the CD-ROM and complete the Canon LiDE 120 scanner setup.
  • If your computer doesn’t support the CD-ROM, open the default browser and visit the official Canon site.
  • Type your scanner’s model number in the search field.
  • Click the scanner model in the search result.
  • Next, click the Drivers & Downloads tab and wait until your OS is detected automatically.
  • Select the required scanner driver from the displayed list and click the Download button.
  • Once the download is complete, run the driver file and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.

Scanning using IJ Scan Utility:

  • First, place the original document you wish to scan on the scanner glass.
  • On your computer, launch Canon IJ Scan Utility.
  • In the Canon IJ Scan Utility window, choose your scanner name from the Product Name drop-down menu.
  • Click the Settings button and specify the required scan settings.
  • Click OK and select either Photo or Document to start scanning the document placed on the scanner glass.
  • To scan with the default scan settings, click the Auto icon in the Canon IJ Scan Utility window.
